Travel Day

The team left their hotel and made their way to Pastor Daniel's home for their last breakfast in Dasuya.

After tearful goodbyes, they started a journey that didn't play out quite how they anticipated.

The rented bus didn't show; they had to get a new bus, but the luggage compartment wouldn't open ... do you know how much luggage they have?!? So, being the flexible team they are, they loaded the luggage into the bus with them and climbed in. It wasn't the most comfortable bus ride ever, but they were on their way.

I heard Clay's fan didn't work

... Until Jalhandar, where they encountered a traffic jam. That took a few hours, but they made it out and on their way to Delhi. There are a lot more details to that story, so please ask a team member when you get a chance.

There is never a lack of interesting things to see when you're on a bus in India.

They eventually made it to their hotel in Delhi, grabbed a hot Western shower and a few hours of sleep before getting up for their day at the Taj Mahal ... more on that tomorrow.

Thank you for your prayers for our team's safe travel.

Final Clinic Day

I know you already know what I'm going to write ... they broke their own record! The self-proclaimed well-oiled machine received 317 people into the clinic on the last day. And they distributed 402 pairs of glasses! Praise be to God! It's all because of Him that this clinic was so successful.

This team consists of not just the 10 members that traveled from America, but all of the volunteers and translators from Everlasting Life Ministries. God assembled this team from opposites sides of the Earth, with one common goal of sharing God's love through the gift of sight. And they did just that!! And backing this team are hundreds of people praying for them and for God's Word to take root in the hearts of those who hear it.

We have a lot of great pictures of the last day of clinic.

We don't share the same alphabet, so in order to correctly obtain the right prescription, the charts they read are hands facing different directions. So they either point or mimic the handprints to show they can see the line clearly.

Ray started the eye health education outside of the clinic to help speed up the process and get more people the information.

You can see Brian using a candle to soften the frame in order to shape it to fit the new owner perfectly. What good would a pair of glasses be if they didn't fit your face? He also fixes nosepads, screws, and a whole lot of other things I don't know how to do.

The ladies take such good care of the team, making sure they are fed and have their chai! We couldn't function without chai! (It's seriously the best!)

Our ladies even requested a private lesson on how to make chai properly! And they got their lesson!

As the team begins their journey home after the eyeglass clinic, please pray for their safe travels and pray for all of the lives that were touched over the last week through the clinic. May it produce Kingdom fruit. Continue to follow the blog as we share more pictures and maybe some stories, too.

A Day of Worship and Praise

Jai Masih Ki! Praise the Lord!

The team joined the congregation of Everlasting Life Ministry again for Sunday worship and were blessed by music and ministry. Watching such fervent praise to our Father in Heaven pushes your heart to overflowing, even when you can't understand the language being sung.

What a treat to see the adorable children praising God, too!

They also celebrated two baptisms ... a married couple that Pastor Daniel has been ministering to for the last 11 months.

A few of the team members were able to join Pastor Daniel, Elizabeth, and Wittness at the Hoshiarpur church in the afternoon.

The ride to Hoshiarpur allowed for some great photos to give you a better glimpse into the area.

The team was also able to do a little shopping in the market in Dasuya. I wonder how they're haggling went.

The team is already geared up and ready for the final day of the eyeglass clinic. Thank you again for remembering them in your prayers.
